Pussy Riot's Nadezhda Tolokonnikova still missing

The husband of imprisoned Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova is continuing efforts to locate his missing wife.

Pyotr Verzilov has heard nothing from Nadezhda Tolokonnikova in 19 days, with the Russian reportedly recently moved to a prison Siberia.

He has been updating a Twitter account with what the BBC says is information from a quest to find Tolokonnikova - who had been on hunger strike in protest of prison conditions - in the Krasnoyarsk region of central Siberia, which is 2,000 miles away from Moscow.

Speaking previously about his wife's change of prison, Verzilov said:

"They do not have the ability to put on the usual psychological or physical pressure they can use with inmates because of the high profile of the case. So they have chosen this as the punishment instead."

Tolokonnikova was sentenced with two years in jail for hooliganism in August last year after being part of a protest performance inside a Moscow church.

Two of her bandmates were also sentenced, but one was later released on appeal.

Amnesty International meanwhile this week called upon the Russian authorities to clarify the whereabouts of Tolokonnikova, with the organisation stating that she needs to have access to a lawyer.

The group's name hit the headlines on Tuesday (November 5) when a banner with the words 'Free Pussy Riot' in the home section of Manchester City's football match against CSKA Moscow was taken away by stewards.
