Johannes Bornlof’s latest release further underlines his music quality and reaffirms his masterful status in the world of piano music, his track 'Sanctum' is truly a work of art.

From the first note of the piece the tone is set; beginning with a swift sequence of notes filled with intrigue and wonder leaving the listener eager to hear what is to come, before being rewarded with a crisp melody that cuts through and shines through like the winter sun, suddenly the piece starts to gather momentum with the introduction of many layers being subtly added and the texture of the piece, which is now constantly in flux but with a clear sense of direction and purpose. The intimacy of the track is immediately apparent and the ambience of the piece is absolutely stunning, you as the listener get the feeling it’s just you and the artist in the room; you can even hear the pauses for breath. Yet interestingly it doesn’t lose its sense of grandeur, for all its sense of intimacy it also conjures up images of vast landscapes, distant lands filled with wonder and epic adventures.
