Nicki Minaj's new songs are more pop than rap

Nicki Minaj's new material focuses less on rap and more on melody, according to producer London On Da Track.

The music man told Complex that he has worked with the 'Super Bass' star on four songs.

However, they see Minaj move away from rap vocals, with keyboards more prevalent in the sound.

The producer said: "I just got out of the studio with Nicki - we've done about three or four records.

"These are more singing records than rap. They're crossover.

"It gives me a chance to show my other side. People only know me for that club signature sound, but I really play keys and I'm a musician - I've been doing it for a long time."

Minaj's last album 'The Pinkprint' was released in 2014.
