Olly Murs still heartbroken following split last September

Olly Murs is still grieving the loss of his 3-year romance with Francesca Thomas.

The former X Factor host split from the property manager 8 months ago in September.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, he said he has penned an emotional song about the break-up.

Murs said: "I'm not over it. I don't think anyone is ever over a break-up. You're always going to think about them and care about them.

"It's like you've lost someone, like you're grieving, because they were there all of the time and then they're not."

Murs is finding solace by drinking and partying and admitted: "The problem is at the moment I'm going out too much. You know when you go to the doctors and they ask you questions, they say 'How often do you drink?'

"Normally I'd say I have a drink once or twice every two weeks and now it's like... every two or three days... maybe."

“I missed doing the boxsets and those things with her. So writing the album has been like therapy in a way as I got upset in the sessions.

“Maybe it will be difficult for her to listen to.

“Some days I would walk into the studio and all the guys would be really excited and I’d say, ‘I’m not feeling it, I’m just in one of those moods today, I feel quite lonely and sad. I can’t bring myself to be happy today’.”

“My sister said when I broke up with my girlfriend that I would find it hard as I’m always used to having someone with me. When I was younger I had my twin brother, then I had my girlfriend.”
