Olly Murs has "done a Rihanna" and used the London Underground to get to tonight's (February 20) BRIT Awards.

Rihanna made headlines when she used the popular city transport to get to a show at London's O2 Arena for her 'Loud' tour last year.

Murs has followed in the star's footsteps and jumped on an underground train to avoid traffic this evening to get to the coveted BRIT Awards.

Writing on his Twitter page, the star exclaimed: "That was bonkers!! Did a Rihanna tonight and got the tube to the @BRITAwards the traffic was NUTS!! #nowneedatoilet (sic)."

Murs is nominated in both the British Male Solo Artist and British Single categories at the annual awards ceremony.

The former X Factor finalist took to the social networking site last night to share his anxiety ahead of the event.

He wrote: "Brits tomorrow night!! Starting to get nervous...don't think I can eat... I might win... Or not lol Shall I prepare a speech.. (sic)."
