The Saturdays "amazed" by US popularity

The Saturdays are "amazed" at the fan base they are amassing in America.

The British girl group - comprising Una Healy, Frankie Sandford, Rochelle Humes, Mollie King and Vanessa White - recently debuted their US series Chasing The Saturdays in the US as they aim to crack the country.

The band are overwhelmed by the support they have received so far, with King revealing: "It's been amazing actually. Obviously no-one really knows us out there at the moment which was one of the main reasons for doing the reality show, but we've actually had two of our own headline shows out there, one in New York and one in L.A. and we couldn't believe that people we actually there.

She added: "They were both were sold-out shows and we had a signing in New York as well, so we're gradually building up a fan base over there which is so exciting for us."

The five-piece also performed at the prestigious Golden Globes after-party.

Humes gushed to the BBC: "We were like 'Oh my goodness, we can't believe we're here.' What a gig to get booked at. Anne Hathaway was there at the party and they were all watching us. It was just mad. Scary.

King added: "Thankfully we found out she was there afterwards, otherwise we would have been more nervous. People came over and were like 'Anne Hathaway's watching, the whole cast of Les Mis are here!'"
