'Hips Don't Lie' superstar Shakira has admitted that she struggled with self-esteem issues following the birth of her first child and worried that her boyfriend, footballer Gerard Pique, wouldn't find her as attractive as before.

During a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Shakira confessed that after having baby Milan in January she began to feel insecure about her body:

"Looking at your new image in the mirror... I looked like a Shar-Pei when I first delivered. I was like, 'Oh my God. Am I ever going to be sexy again? Is my man ever going to feel attracted to me again the way he used to be?'"

The beauty also joked that having a baby isn't as "idyllic" as people think because of the general mess of childbirth and the shock of delivering a "purple and wrinkled" baby:

"Delivering a baby is not as idyllic as people make it seem. Don't expect that he is going to be rosy cheeks, cherub when he is born. Actually, when I saw mine, I was like, 'Oh my God! He is purple and wrinkled. What is this?'"
