Ten-time nominated and two-time Grammy Award-winning R&B singer/songwriter/musician H.E.R. was featured on SONGLAND this week and has released a new song Wrong Places. Writers on the song include H.E.R., “Songland” songwriter Raquel Castro and Ryan Tedder.

“Songland” provides talented up-and-coming songwriters with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to collaborate with visionary music producers who are responsible for today’s biggest hits.

Today Wrong Places is ranked #2 on the iTunes R&B/Soul Chart and #3 on the iTunes Overall Chart and is available on these platforms to stream and download.

Raquel competed in Season 1 of “The Voice” at 16, making it to the Top 16 on Christina Aguilera’s team. She began songwriting during this experience and, after finishing high school, moved to Los Angeles for two years. At 20, Raquel landed a recurring guest role on Fox’s “Empire”, where she got to dance and sing. She still finds acting jobs on the side and has spent large chunks of time in Los Angeles whenever she books an acting or music gig. She has started to focus more on her songwriting passion, but it is difficult living in Long Island as she finds that she writes a lot more creative music while in California.

SONGLAND HIGHLIGHTS:
Last week, Luis Fonsi’s “Sway” became the ninth “Songland” song to produce a #1 ranking on an iTunes chart. “Sway” reached #1 on the iTunes Overall Chart, iTunes Latin Chart, and iTunes Latin Music Video Chart.

In the season premiere, Lady Antebellum’s “Champagne Night” reached #1 on the iTunes Overall Chart, Country Chart, and Music Video Chart. It also debuted at #1 last week on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales Chart.
