Taylor Swift leads tributes to late fashion designer Oscar de la Renta

Taylor Swift has paid tribute to fashion designer Oscar de la Renta after his death.

The 82-year-old stylista passed away in his home in Connecticut on Monday (October 20).

A cause of death has not yet been given, but it has been reported that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Swift took to Twitter and Instagram after the news broke to pay her respects, saying:

"My all-time favorite designer has passed away. Oscar, it was an honor to wear your creations and to know you. In loving memory."

De La Renta was noted for designing outfits for numerous US First Ladies, including Jackie Kennedy, Hilary Clinton and Michelle Obama.

Model Karlie Kloss meanwhile said on Instagram: "The world lost one of the most extraordinary people that I have ever met. Thank you for helping me become the woman I am today and for always inspiring me to be better. There simply is no one else like you."
