Taylor Swift: 'Twitter's dark underbelly is that it gives people a veil of anonymity'

Songstress Taylor Swift has opened up about the way in which social media encourages people to vent anonymously without giving a second thought to how it might impact the people they target.

In a brand new interview with Wonderland magazine, on which she also graces the cover, the beauty explained that while she enjoys Twitter, there's a dark side to it that she doesn't like at all:

"Twitter's dark underbelly is that it gives people a veil of anonymity: they can have a terrible day at work, feel awful about themselves, come home and get drunk and go call someone ugly on Instagram. If people don't have anyone to talk to about their problems, they go online and just say wicked, gross, cruel mean-spirited things about people."

It was recently confirmed that Taylor Swift has been added to the list of performers for this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is due to take place in Manhattan on November 27.
