Taylor Swift: "I forgive Michael J. Fox's relationship criticism"

Country songstress Taylor Swift has revealed things are "good" between her and Michael J. Fox after the actor criticised her approach to relationships.

Both stars attended the recent Golden Globes ceremony and comedienne Tina Fey - who was presenting an award at the time - joked that Swift should keep away from Fox's 23-year-old son Sam.

Swift has something of a reputation for penning songs about failed relationships, having dated a string of high profile stars including One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles, John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Hollywood star Fox slammed Swift's choice of lyrics earlier this week, suggesting that he doesn't want his son anywhere near the singer, telling Vulture magazine:

"I don't keep up with it at all. Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career. [If the song was] 'Sam, You Piece of S**t'...[I'd go] 'Oh that was the girl you brought home!'."

Swift has now responded to Fox's headline grabbing criticism, writing to her fans on her Twitter page:  “Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good. Thank you for having my back.”

Earlier this month, Swift took to the social networking site to reveal she was set to record more music after a successful 2012 with hit album 'Red'.

She teasingly wrote: "Back in the studio...Uh oh." Watch Tina Fey make reference to Swift at the Golden Globes below:
