Country-pop beauty Taylor Swift has confessed that her current tour buddy and close friend Ed Sheeran has a passion for weaponry and toys.

The pair are currently travelling across North America together in support of her latest record, 'Red', and the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' songstress told MTV that Sheeran was given a sword used in the 'Lord of the Rings' movies by director Peter Jackson (pictured below) and he just can't put it down:

"He got this sword... he went to New Zealand and got this sword. The actual Peter Jackson gave him a sword from a 'Lord of the Rings' movie. And he was obsessed with it to the point where like he would come into by dressing room waving it and then just leave."

Swift joked that it becomes tricky when they have to go to airports as security are never sure whether to allow the British singer-songwriter to bring the piece of memorabilia onto planes with him:

"Everybody is like, we don't know if that's OK on a plane. It's a weapon, but it's a medieval weapon [so] we don't know, I don't know. But he's obsessed with stuff like that. He's obsessed with Legos. He's obsessed with swords, like axes, stuff like that. It was on the table [on the trip to Nashville] and it started to slide."
