Tiësto slams Daft Punk's 'overhyped' music

Tiësto believes Daft Punk's music "doesn't deliver" and that people like them just to be cool.

The French electronic duo are one of the world's hottest properties at the moment after the release of their 2013 album 'Random Access Memories'.

A clever marketing campaign and a hit single in the shape of 'Get Lucky' has truly brought Daft Punk to the mainstream.

However, Dutch DJ Tiësto told the Huffington Post that he reckons their music isn't actually that good. He said:

"I'm destroying them now. Sorry Daft Punk. But the Tron soundtrack wasn't that great and this is not great, either. But because it's Daft Punk and they're supposed to be cool and they had the amazing pyramid at Coachella a couple of years ago and the helmets - they're f**king cool. But the music doesn't deliver on the hype so much."

Speaking about a time when he questioned some women at a party about Daft Punk's new music, Tiësto added:

"I said, 'Lemme ask you a question; do you really like this song?' And they went quiet and were like, 'Uh…it's all right, it's all right'. That's what I mean. Because it's Daft Punk and we want to believe the hype; we are cool people so we have to think this is cool."
