Tulisa Contostavlos has revealed she is trying to toughen up fellow X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger.

Scherzinger was the final addition to this year's judging line-up on the UK edition of the TV talent show, filling the seat vacated by Kelly Rowland.

Tulisa told The Sun however that Scherzinger is "too nice" on the show and that she should be more of a "meanie".

The 'Young' singer also praised Scherzinger's personality, calling her a "lovely girl-next-door" type of lady. She said:

"Nicole's wicked. Everyone keeps asking me, 'Can you expect any brawls this year, or dramas?' But Nicole is just such a sweetie, she's too nice. It will never happen. I even tell her, 'Come on Nicole, be a meanie, toughen up!' But that's just who she is. She's a lovely, girl-next-door, down-to-earth person who is extremely talented. And she knows her stuff. I doubt you'll see any brawls from us this year."
