Karen O writes "psycho opera"

Karen O, frontwoman with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, has confirmed that she is working on creating a stage production. 

The singer will team up later this autumn with playwright Adam Rapp for an exciting project that they have coined as a "psycho opera" and it's set to debut in New York City this coming October. 

This won't be Karen O's first devation from her career as a band member because she wrote some of the music for Spike Jonze's 'Where The Wild Things Are' back in 2009, and this new path will see her unveil the opera during a four-day arts festival in Brooklyn in three months' time. 

No further details have been released as of yet, but Playbill explained that the production is "an assault on the tragic joys of youth".
