5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin says he is needing a break after a hectic 2015.

The group toured the world this year, as well as releasing their second album 'Sounds Good Feels Good'.

It all seems to have caught up with Irwin, who tweeted overnight about his tiredness.

The Australian wrote: "Ready for Christmas! Feeling so exhausted after this huge year.

"Thank you for standing by the band! Let's keep rockin next year xx."

The band will return to the live stage from spring onwards on their Sounds Live Feels Live tour.

The quartet are due to visit continents such as Europe and North America on the run.
