Australian band 5 Seconds Of Summer have revealed that they do read fanfic occasionally, but it makes them feel a little uncomfortable. 

Drummer Ashton Irwin joked to BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw that it's so romantic and dramatic that his real life feels boring in comparison: 

"Ehh... it's like, it either makes you sound embarrassingly romantic, which makes me feel bad about my actual self... You know what I mean?"

Guitarist Michael Clifford then confessed that he has read 'imagine' fan accounts, which post fantasy situations, and those are just as bizarre: "They do these things online called 'Imagines' and it's like, 'imagine going on a date with Michael and you take a moonlit walk on the beach and stuff,' when in reality we go for popcorn and coffee!"
