Vocal sensation Demi Lovato has opened up about the creative process she goes through in order to write songs.

During an interview with Walmart Soundcheck, the 'Skyscraper' beauty explained that it's usually a case of wanting to get something specific off her chest:

"My writing process is going into the studio and either having something to say and telling who I’m writing with, ‘Hey, this is what I want to write about. I have to get this off my chest.’"

"That’s kind of how we start the song, and also trying to personalize it as much as possible.”

Referring to her new album, 'Demi', she added that it's a very personal offering: “It’s just a representation of who I am and where I am today and the music I wanted to create for a long time, and I finally got the courage to do so. It kind of goes back to the roots of my first two albums and it’s different because I’m also speaking about some pretty heavy issues and opening up a lot.”
