Ed Sheeran worried about making it big: 'I was a chubby ginger kid with a small guitar'

Ed Sheeran has admitted that he feared he wouldn't make it big in music because of his looks.

The singer-songwriter is currently on top of the world, with his second album 'x' dominating global charts.

However, he told Zane Lowe's MTV show Relentless Ultra Presents Soundchain that he initially thought his appearance would hinder his progress in the industry.

Sheeran said: "I wasn't a very marketable person ever. This was point where James Blunt was huge. All labels looking for next singer/songwriter and I was a chubby ginger kid with a small guitar."

The singer-songwriter's album 'x' meanwhile is on course to spend a fourth week at No.1 in the UK.

The record features tracks like 'Sing' and 'Don't'.
