Liam Payne: 'Learning how to write songs will help my career to be long and successful'

One Direction sensation Liam Payne has revealed that he's very keen to hone his songwriting skills because he believes that being able to pen great tracks will enable him to enjoy a longer career in the industry.

Heartthrob Payne explained to Britain's The Sun newspaper that he has a songwriting partnership going with Louis Tomlinson and he's excited to get back to writing as it's such an important part in their collective music career:

"Louis and I have a little partnership going on. We've been pretty keen to start writing straight away. I've been in the studio already, it's been going really well." Payne added: "Learning how to write [songs] is the best way of ensuring your career has longevity and that you have control over it. I really think the next album is going to be a game-changer for us... I'm excited."

Earlier on in February, Payne told press that he thinks One Direction's forthcoming new album is likely to appeal to a male audience: "People say we don't work hard and it's all a game and whatever. We just wanna make good music, and this album - honestly, every lad out there tonight who's thinking One Direction are this and that. Literally, next album - pick up our album and see what you feel."
