Niall Horan has whetted the appetite of One Direction fans across the world by telling them to expect new music in the "next couple of months".

The British boyband have been busy recently working on the follow-up to their hit debut album 'Up All Night'.

Details of the band's new material has largely been kept under wraps, but Horan took to Twitter last night (July 26) to confirm that they will be unveiling new music in the "next couple of months". He said:

"Guys love you all soo much! we been in the studio lately! we're comin back with more music in the next couple of months! get ready xx."

Horan meanwhile later took to the social networking website again to thank his band's fans for their support over the last two years. He said:

"Best fans on the planet! Love you all, goodnight ! Ps.imagine 2 years ago we didnt know each other, all this is thanks t you! #repayment."
