One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has revealed his excitement for the band's next album following a writing session.

The British boyband only released their previous record 'Take Me Home' in November last year, but they recently revealed at a press conference that their next effort would be out before Christmas.

It seems progress on the album is going well, with Tomlinson revealing on Twitter that the group have been indulging in some new writing. He said:

"F*cking so excited for this new record ! Great day writing with @JohnHenryRyan @julianbulian @JamieScottG6 @Real_Liam_Payne."

One Direction have recently written with the likes of The Vaccines singer Justin Young, whilst long-time writing partner Ed Sheeran confirmed that he wouldn't be contributing any tracks for the record.

One Direction meanwhile previously suggested that their next album would be "rockier and edgier" than their old material.
