Boyband One Direction have been enjoying some downtime on their current 'Take Me Home' tour and member Niall Horan spent the day with his close family and friends.

Writing on his official Twitter page earlier today (May 27), Horan told his followers that he was looking forward to taking time to hang out with his loved ones and step out of the spotlight for a little while:

"So now! Time off! Friends and family time! chilling out! And just spending the time I missed out on with them now! Just friends n family."

He returned to the social networking site this evening and joked that his gran told him to turn on the radio earlier because One Direction were on it:

"Was talking to my nanny earlier and she said, have to go! Listening to the radio they're gona talk about one direction after the break! Haha."
