2,000 online searches for One Direction tickets per minute following extended tour news

Now that One Direction have revealed that their 'Where We Are' tour has been extended with a new set of additional dates for the UK and Europe, it has been confirmed that ticket searches for the shows have shot through the roof.

The lads made the exciting announcement earlier today (September 19) and online ticket company Viagogo has now reported that since the news broke there have been 2,000 searches per minute for tickets to the concerts.

Viagogo spokesperson Steve Roest explained in a statement: "Announcing the European leg of their Where We Are tour has given Directioners another opportunity to get their hands on tickets to 1D’s biggest ever shows. As our data has illustrated, fans are even more determined to get tickets to see the boys this time round."

One Direction will perform at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on May 30, London's Wembley Arena on June 6, and Dublin's Croke Park on May 23. Additional shows in Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Dusseldorf have also been confirmed
