Selena Gomez wants to put her music career on hold after her impending world tour.

The singer and actress is due to promote her new album 'Stars Dance' with a global jaunt from August to November but it seems her focus will shift back to film once it is complete.

Speaking in a live webchat, Gomez was asked if she had any plans to stop singing - to which she replied:

"Yeah, probably for a while, I wanna get more into film. I'm open to trying new things. I just did an action movie and a dark comedy and then a drama so I've been able to do really fun projects that are different."

One of the US star's last films came in the shape of Spring Breakers, which was released in March this year.

Gomez meanwhile recently released the artwork for her upcoming album 'Stars Dance', which will be unveiled on July 23.
