Union J singer Josh Cuthbert has admitted that he would be angry if one of his bandmates left the group to go solo.

Zayn Malik quit One Direction in spring to live a more normal life.

However, he has since signed a solo contract with RCA Records.

Speaking to OK!, Union J star Cuthbert said he would be reeling if he saw one of his bandmates quitting the band to later go solo.

He said: "I do think that if what happened there happened to us and one of the guys left and you started to see him doing stuff on his own I'd be p****d off.

"You would naturally wouldn't you? Because the whole reason he left is because he didn't like the limelight and now all of a sudden he's going into the limelight.

"So if I was one of the other four, if I was in 1D I'd kind of be like 'We want to explore what we want to do on our own' – I can't blame them."
