A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg has died aged 45

A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg has passed away at the age of 45, Rolling Stone confirmed.

Dawg died yesterday (March 22). An official statement has yet to be issued.

A Tribe Called Quest released various hip hop hits such as 1991's 'Can I Kick It?', 'Bonita Applebum and 'I Left My Wallet in El Segundo.'

Dawg founded the group with school friends, Q-Tip and Alie Shaheed Muhammed in 1985.

The group last performed publicly together on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in November 2015.
