Blänk - Atlanta exclusive listening session video + ‘Áurinko Rising Again’ EP/‘Do This Thing’ single out now

This summer a heap of music lovers, media and blogs have discovered Blänk and their fusion of Hip Hop, Electro, RnB and Swedish melancholia. With the July release of their ‘DO THE BLÄNK‘ mixtape, the trio from northern Sweden found fans in FACT Mag and Gigwise among others, while their August video release ‘Doing My Dance’ (premiered on Clash Music) was quickly picked up by Daily Motion and tallied over 20,000 views in a matter of days. On the 27th of August, Blänk returns with ‘Áurinko Rising Again‘, a five track EP recorded in the band's home in Ryssbält, (Swedish Lapland) and Atlanta, GA.

To celebrate their latest successes and releases, Grind Records is also re-releasing their single ‘Do This Thing’ with remixes from famed DJs Dubbel Dutch (Mixpak) and Norrit (Palms Out).

Ever since their debut album ‘You’ve Never Been To Sápmi’ (2009) Blänk have been one of the most blogged-about bands from Sweden. After the success of debut single ‘Shirt Off’ - which was praised by some of the world’s largest Electro music blogs – Blänk opened for acts like Lupe FiascoThe Cool Kids and Wale in the USA and had a couple of single hits on college radio in the states, and national radio in Sweden.

Member Lina is something of a Punk Rocker trapped in a Pop star’s body. Songstress in Blänk, author of university course literature in mediation and the visionary guide in the band, she is also a member of Electro-indie band The Touch which has remixed artists like Robyn, Rex The Dog and Drop the Lime

Member Simon T, or Young Ivy, is a strange combination of deep thinker and party animal with immature Rap star aspirations. Born in Sweden and Ivy League-educated in the US, he eventually relocated to Atlanta and became a Senior Account Executive in marketing before saying 'screw it!' and leaving the professional world for the music dream.

The third member Klas, is a former reality TV star and teen heartthrob as the runner-up in the Swedish version of reality show Survivor. He decided to become a producer after his 25th birthday and earned a Grammynomination in Sweden for his RnB-project LDOD.
