Police say there's nothing to indicate Cory Monteith's death was due to illicit drug use

Vancouver police have said there is nothing to indicate Cory Monteith's death was down to illicit drug use.

As previously reported, the 31-year-old Glee actor passed away on Saturday (July 13) after being found dead in a hotel room in Canada.

Police immediately ruled out foul play but Monteith's previous drug afflictions were speculated online as a possible cause.

However, Vancouver police's Sgt. Randy Fincham has stated that there is nothing yet to indicate the actor's untimely death was due to illegal drugs.

British Columbia's Coroner Services meanwhile confirmed on Monday (July 15) that Monteith's autopsy had been completed. It is said its results could be fast-tracked due to the level of public interest in the case.
