Katy Perry was the big winner at last night's (January 11) People's Choice Awards after collecting an impressive 5 prizes.

The pop princess cancelled her scheduled appearance at the star-studded event on Tuesday, January 10 despite being nominated for 7 awards, but her lack of attendance obviously didn't affect her success as she was awarded some of the most coveted titles.

Newly separated Perry was crowned Favourite TV Guest Star, Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Tour Headliner, and also won the categories of Favourite Song of the Year for 'E.T.' and Favourite Music Video for 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)'.

She wrote a message of thanks to her fans on Twitter that read: "THANK U to every1 who voted for me for the @peopleschoice tonight! We won so many! Now I need to get more books 2 successfully display them!"

Other winners at the ceremony included Lady Gaga, who picked up the Favourite Album of the Year prize for 'Born This Way', Favourite Male Artist Bruno Mars and Eminem who landed the Favourite Hip-Hop Artist award.
