The Council of Fashion Designers of America has given Lady Gaga this year’s Fashion Icon Award for “being a fashion revolutionary impacting style today.”

The CFDA is a non-profit organisation consisting of more than 370 of America’s foremost clothing, accessory and jewellery designers, the president of which is Diane Von Furstenburg.

Previous winners of the Fashion Icon Award are Iman, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman.
