Lady Gaga critical of Glamour 'Women of the Year' edition cover: 'It's not how I carry myself'

'Applause' beauty Lady Gaga was honoured at Glamour magazine's Women of the Year ceremony in Manhattan yesterday, but gave some very honest observations about the photo used for the edition's cover.

Speaking at the Women of the Year event in New York City last night (November 11), Gaga explained that she doesn't feel as though the image chosen for the magazine cover (shown below) is at all representative of her genuine appearance:

"The picture, which I'm very grateful for and very happy to be on this cover, I felt it was too beautiful. I felt my skin looked too perfect, and my hair looked too soft. This is not usually how I dress or how I carry myself."

"I believe my true mission is to inspire young people to fight back against forces that make them feel like they're not beautiful or important. I do not look like this when I wake up in the morning."

Gaga added: "It is fair to write about the change in your magazines. But what I want to see is the change on your covers... When the covers change, that's when culture changes."
