Fifth Harmony's Lauren on self-confidence: 'You shouldn't put yourself down to try and seem humble'

Songstress Lauren Jauregui, of Fifth Harmony fame, has opened up about building self-confidence and confessed that the first step to becoming comfortable in your own skin is learning to love yourself and accept who you truly are.

Speaking to AndPop about finding inner happiness, the beauty explained that it's a hard thing to do to try and love yourself, but it's important if you want to be truly confident and at peace:

"I think, one of the main things is just to love yourself. Learn to love yourself and know that it's OK to love yourself. I think there's a misconception that if you love yourself, you're conceited - and you can't do that or you have to put yourself down in order to be humble. But, that's really not the case at all. Loving yourself has to come from within."

Member Normani Kordei added: "If you surround yourself with positivity and people that love you for who you are, you won't have to change or pretend like you're this girl or that girl. Just love yourself and be positive."
