One Direction's new video sees fans flock to Clevedon Pier: 'There's a real buzz there at the moment'

Earlier this week, heartthrobs One Direction debuted their highly anticipated music video for 'You & I' and it has now been revealed that fans of the band have been flocking to the location where the offering was shot to take photos.

The clip was filmed at Clevedon Pier in Somerset and pier mistress Linda Strong has now explained to the press that there have been a significant increase in visitors to the seaside location since the release of the video, which is great because it's helping to raise the area's profile: "We were all counting down the days until the music video was released. And it seems as if the band's fans were, too. We saw a number of young visitors on the pier over the past few days all keen to take their picture at the exact spot at which their idols stood."

She added: "There has been a real buzz around the pier as a result of One Direction using it as a location."

Although the lads' video for 'You & I' failed to break VEVO's 24-hour record, it still managed to attract 6,976,288 views in its first day of release. Miley Cyrus holds the current record with her video for 'Wrecking Ball', which had 19.3 million views.
