Lucy Hale: 'I know I can't compete with Fifth Harmony and 5SOS'

'Pretty Little Liars' actress and country singer Lucy Hale has revealed that while she's excited at being in the running for MTV's Artist On The Rise at this year's EMAs, she knows that the competition she's up against is very tough.

She will go head to head with the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer, Fifth Harmony, Jake Miller, and Nick Jonas for the title, which is being voted for by fans on social media using set hashtags, and she took to her official Twitter page this afternoon (November 7) to thank her followers for the support and to admit that she doesn't think winning is likely for her as she's among such huge nominees: "So appreciate all the votes y'all are doin' for EMA & I know I can't compete with those 5SOS & Fifth Harmony people. But y'all make me smile."

She also returned to the social networking site after the 2014 Country Music Awards, which took place on November 5, and praised Ariana Grande's impressive live duet with Little Big Town: "Little angel @ArianaGrande KILLED it tonight at CMAs. Absolutely mind blowing voice." Upon seeing Hale's tweet, Grande replied: "Thank u love! Wish I had gotten to hug u."

The 2014 MTV EMAs will take place this coming Sunday, November 9, in Glasgow and results of the Artist On The Rise poll will be announced during the ceremony.
