X Factor's Fleur East signs Syco record deal

X Factor star Fleur East has inked a record contract with Syco.

The singer was the runner-up in the TV talent show's 2014 series.

Today (January 12) it was revealed that she has penned a deal with Simon Cowell's Syco label.

The music mogul commented: "Fleur proved what a star she was on the show last year and we now look forward to starting work on her record."

East added on Twitter: "It’s official!!! The hard work starts now!!!"

The Brit rose to mainstream prominence on the show after covering Mark Ronson's 'Uptown Funk'.

She is the second singer from the 2014 X Factor to sign with Syco, with winner Ben Haenow also getting a deal.
