Zayn Malik’s first public appearance following his departure from One Direction has been confirmed.

The former boy band star – who is British Pakistani – will be attending The 5th Asian Awards on April 17 in London. 

News of 22-year-old Malik’s attendance was confirmed via Twitter when a fan asked if rumours that Zayn would be present were true.

Official organisers of The Asian Awards simply tweeted a reply of: “Yes.”

The Asian Awards celebrate achievements within the worldwide Asian community.

Zayn Malik was present at the previous Asian Awards event held in 2014.
