Shawn Mendes usurps Justin Bieber at top of UK singles chart

Justin Bieber's UK singles chart reign has finally ended at the hands of Shawn Mendes.

The 21-year-old has lorded the list for the last 12 weeks through his tracks 'Love Yourself', 'Sorry' and 'What Do You Mean?'.

However, the Official Charts Company confirmed today (January 22) that Mendes' 'Stitches' is now No.1.

The tune sold only 1,500 more combined units to give the Canadian his first chart-topping single in the UK.

At No.2 is Bieber's 'Love Yourself', with his other new track 'Sorry' at No.3.

The 21-year-old features again at No.4 with 'What Do You Mean?', with 'Girls is Mine' by 99 Souls rounding off the top five.

Snakehips' 'All My Friends' is into the top ten for the first time at No.8.

The 1975 meanwhile are the highest new entry at No.13 with 'The Sound'.

Ellie Goulding's 'Army' peaks at No.35, while 'Lush Life' by Zara Larsson is No.40.
