Jared Leto on preparing for The Joker role: "I was watching real violence"

Actor and 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto has revealed that to get into the mindset of The Joker he watched a lot of "real violence".

He played the iconic role in the recent movie "Suicide Squad" and told the Rolling Stone that method acting was the only way to go for this particular project:

"The Joker is incredibly comfortable with acts of violence. I was consuming watching real violence. There’s a lot you can learn from seeing it. Not every act of violence is committed with frenzy. I remember learning that – that people can be calm. It’s methodical, and sometimes even hypnotic and deliberate. But I had to stop myself watching too much.”

Leto went onto add that his character brought a lot of "entertainment" to the crew while shooting the film: "The Joker became entertainment for a lot of the crew. I think we all bonded, even though I was in this place.”
