Wretch 32 understands the pressures of fame

Following Wretch 32's huge number 2 entry in the UK charts last Sunday (April 24) with 'Unorthodox', he has revealed that fame is a daunting prospect.

The 'Traktor' star has enjoyed 2 top ten singles and his career is taking off at rocket speed, but he explained to the Daily Star that sometimes he questions if he's ready for it:

"Grime is crossing over, but a massive song can be both a gift and a curse. Sometimes I feel like I’m almost up there and it throws you into a league that you might not be ready to be."

"It means you have to keep delivering, otherwise people might think ‘he only had one or two hits’. You just have to be ready to adjust.”

The hitmaker also said that he understands how in the UK urban music scene you have to be able to work alongside different genres and be confident in your sound:

"You have to be prepared for anything. It goes way back to So Solid Crew who did it big. Chipmunk had to prove he could sit alongside Pixie Lott and then Tinie Tempah followed."

“We got a special industry but we gotta work hard to stay relevant.”
