The wife of Robin Gibb has said the Bee Gee is "doing brilliantly" as he undergoes chemotherapy.

As previously reported, Gibb's spokesman confirmed on Wednesday (January 18) that he was receiving chemotherapy treatment.

The spokesman added that the reality of the situation was that Gibb is "very unwell".

However, Gibb's wife Dwina has told the Daily Express that despite an eight-week chemotherapy plan ahead of him, the singer is feeling "fantastic" and hopes to attend a war memorial event in the summer. She said:

"He is doing brilliantly. He feels good and he does not have any pain. He really is fantastic. He is determined to be at the unveiling of the Bomber Command Memorial in June and I am sure he will be there."
