Now that performance confirmations for the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games are starting to come through, Victoria Beckham has added weight to the rumour that suggests the Spice Girls might appear.

Earlier this afternoon (August 2), the acclaimed fashion designer and singer sent out a photograph via her official Twitter page that set fans' tongues wagging as recent reports have hinted that the British girl group may reunite for the occasion.

The picture in question is of a silver jewelled microphone and she accompanied the shot with the teasing caption: "look what I found!!"

The Sunday Mirror's celebrity and entertainment columnist, Dean Piper, also took to the social networking site this afternoon and revealed that the Spice Girls are in fact "rehearsing" for the event today:

"So the Spice Girls are all together rehearsing for the Olympics RIGHT NOW in London. #itsonbitches"
