Barbra Streisand thinking of casting Lady Gaga in 'Gypsy' remake

Icon Barbra Streisand is currently working on a film adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents’ legendary musical 'Gypsy' and has revealed that she has a pop superstar in mind for the lead role when the plans are finally set in motion.

Speaking to Joel Stein for an in-depth interview with Time magazine, the singer and actress explained that she's considering casting Lady Gaga in the film, which chronicles the story of famous striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee. Stein reports:

"Other than the temperature controlling and backseat driving, Barbra was a really fun, mellow driving buddy. She told me about her cousin Lowell, I told her what a mullet is, she told me she’s thinking of casting Lady Gaga as the lead in her remake of 'Gypsy', and I told her I was really, really cold."
