Bridgit Mendler has complimented One Direction and believes they are a talented bunch of singers.

The US Disney star told MTV that the 'Live While We're Young' lads are a top pop group who deserve their success.

Whilst some may lament the vocal ability of mainstream acts, Mendler - who released debut studio album 'Hello My Name Is...' last year - believes that One Direction have got the talent. She said:

"I think the One Direction boys all have great voices and really catchy songs."

Mendler added: "I think it's wonderful how many British artists are transferring over to the United States and they all have something to offer."

One Direction meanwhile are currently in the midst of their Take Me Home UK and Ireland tour, with their next gig taking place in Manchester on Friday (March 15).
