Ed Drewett believes One Direction single will make more money than The Wanted

Songwriter Ed Drewett reckons One Direction's new single could top The Wanted's 'Glad You Came' as his most profitable song.

The British music man has penned a number of massive tracks and he recently had a go at One Direction's latest release 'Best Song Ever'.

It is on course to top charts all across the world and speaking to the Metro, Drewett revealed that it will probably eclipse a Wanted track he wrote in terms of financial success. Speaking about 'Glad You Came' - which the songwriter said has made him the most cash - he said:

"I've only seen the first couple of payments but I'm pretty happy with it. 'Best Song Ever' for One Direction may top that. That's a serious cut - I'm ecstatic about that."

Drewett added: "For any artist you write for, you have to tailor-make the song. So it might be something a bit younger and cheekier for One Direction. With Olly Murs it was a little bit more mature. You have to be aware of what you're writing but melodies just come out, and if they're good, they're good."
