Rumours have been flying around a possible reunion of boyband *NSYNC, but it seems that one of the members’ parents has let the cat out of the bag.

Joseph Fatone Sr, dad of Joey Fatone, has confirmed that the ‘Bye Bye Bye’ stars are due to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. The performance will be in part to celebrate Justin Timberlake being presented the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Speaking to RadarOnline, Fatone revealed: “They’re doing a performance. I think it’s exciting.

“I couldn’t even say why he’s doing it though. Why, at this point in his life. Now he’s his own man.

“But it’s more to the fact that MTV has made them all somewhat of stars, and also made Justin a star.”

“I don’t even know what has gone into this performance… I plead the fifth. I would suggest that you tell all your readers and everyone on the Internet, all your social media, tell them to watch!”

The band went on hiatus in 2002 and never reunited. Hopes for a reunion seemed to dwindle as Timberlake’s solo career skyrocketed.
