Justin Bieber charged with graffiti offence in Brazil

Brazilian police have charged Justin Bieber with painting graffiti onto the wall of an abandoned hotel.

The singer had been over in the South American country on tour recently and pictures emerged of the singer allegedly spraying a wall with slogans.

Police officials have now confirmed that charges have been placed against the 19-year-old Canadian in relation to the alleged offence.

They said he is in trouble for "defacing a building or urban monument by graffiti or other means" on Tuesday morning (November 5).

However, whilst it could lead to a one-year prison sentence or a fine, police said that it was a "minor offence".

Bieber could be arrested when he next arrives in Brazil.

It is reported that the singer had the green light to paint at a nearby sports facility, but it is said he left that site to seek refuge from his fans.

Photos have since emerged of Bieber's graffiti being painted over.

The singer meanwhile was recently filmed walking off-stage in Brazil after being hit with a bottle.
