Eminem, Elton John and Rolling Stones up for UK Festival award

The likes of Eminem and Sir Elton John will go head-to-head in this year's UK Festival Awards.

The nominations for the annual event - which is taking place at the London Roundhouse on December 2 - are now out.

Eminem, Elton John, The Rolling Stones and Biffy Clyro are some of the frontrunners in the Headline Performance of the Year category.

They are joined by Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Rammstein, Sigur Ros and The Prodigy.

Other nominees include Download, Glastonbury and T in the Park in the Best Major Festival category whilst Benicàssim is a favourite in the Best Overseas Festival section.

Camp Bestival and Latitude are up for the Best Medium-Sized Festival award and 2000trees and Strawberry Fields are nominated in the Best Small Festival category.

The Anthem of the Summer gong meanwhile will see the likes of Chic, Bastille and Rudimental do battle.

UK Festival Awards Director James Drury commented: "We've seen one of the most vibrant seasons in 2013, line-ups have featured a huge number of must-see and incredible new acts. Alongside that talent legends like Rolling Stones and mega-stars like Eminem returned to the stage. Again we've beaten the record of votes cast with 575,000 received this year and we can't wait to reveal the favourites of the festival-going public."
