Mel C has admitted that she has a "strange relationship" with the X Factor.

Her Spice Girls bandmate Mel B is currently a judge on the UK TV talent show.

However, the singer told the Mirror that she feels the programme doesn't always have a positive impact on wannabe stars.

Mel C said: "I've got a strange relationship with the X Factor.

"I'm so proud of what Melanie's doing, but I don't know how much I think the show is doing great things for the artists that they find."

Speaking about her bandmate, however, the Brit added:

"Melanie's been brilliant. I'm super proud of her. But I always knew she was going to be. She's perfect to do that role as a judge. She's so brutally honest. It's good TV."
