Stereophonics announce December UK mini-tour

'Dakota' rockers Stereophonics have confirmed that they will tour the UK later this year ahead of the release of their forthcoming new album in 2013.

The tour will only have 5 dates, for which tickets are set to go on sale at 9am on November 2, and it will take the band from Newport in Wales, to London and up to Manchester.

Their first show will take place on December 15 and the run on dates will finish just before Christmas, on December 20, at The Troxy in London.

Stereophonics recently unveiled their brand new single, 'Violins and Tambourines', and frontman Kelly Jones explained that he wanted to incorporate his love of the cinematic for the video so made the visuals film-like:

"I’ve loved film and music ever since I was a kid. When I first started writing songs I realised they could paint pictures in your mind, which inevitably leads to telling stories. I’ve always wanted to combine them both. Directing for the first time with a fantastic crew and cast was a great experience.”

The dates are as follows:

December 15 - Newport, Centre
December 16 - Manchester, Academy
December 17 - Glasgow, O2 Academy
December 19 - Birmingham, O2 Academy
December 20 - London, Troxy
